ANIMAL Explain CHRIS HOLMES' Absence From Current Lineup
November 14, 2004ANIMAL, the new group featuring original W.A.S.P. guitarist Randy Piper, have posted a message on their web site addressing the question from many fans regarding the absence of former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes from the group's current lineup (Holmes played on ANIMAL's debut album, 2002's "900 Lb. Steam").
"We know there are a lot of you wondering what happened to Chris," the posting reads. "He had things going on that were keeping him tied down in Los Angeles and things weren't working out with other band members, so anyway, Chris is back in L.A. We wish him nothing but the best, but the bands got to keep moving forward. We think your going to like the new stuff — I know we do! So heres a salute to Chris and let's keep rockin'!"
ANIMAL are currently in the studio recording their sophomore album, tentatively due in early 2005. The follow-up to "900 Lb. Steam" (Perris) will include such "melodic but still raw and nasty" cuts as "Animal In Me", "In the Mirror", "Eye of the Storm" and "HellChild". Two roughly mixed teasers from the upcoming CD have been posted online at the group's newly launched web site, AnimalCave.net. Check them out: "Hell Child" (mp3) and "In the Mirror" (mp3).
ANIMAL's current lineup includes Piper (guitar and vocals),Rich C. Lewis (vocals, ex-BIG AMERICAN DOGS, RAVENCRAFT) and Chris Laney (guitar, ZAN CLAN).
